Romans 11:33-36
33 Oh, the depth of the riches both of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable are His judgments and His ways past finding out! 34 “For who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has become His counselor?” 35 “Or who has first given to Him And it shall be repaid to him?” 36 For of Him and through Him and to Him are all things, to whom be glory forever. Amen.
In the 70’s, when the soldiers came to Chaplain Carothers for their personal problems, he usually asked them to praise and thank God for their particular circumstances. At first these soldiers would hesitate to do so but as they sincerely did, miracles began to take place. Lives were changed and difficulties dissolved. "How could this happen?”, one may ask.
ReplyDeleteIn today’s passage, the answer to verses 34 and 35 is a resounded, “NO”. No, no one has known the mind of the Lord. No one has become His counselor. And no one has first given to Him. As finite people, what can and what ought we do when we face our challenges? We ought to learn to praise Him for “How unsearchable are His judgements and His ways past finding out!” (v33)
Praise the Lord!
