Psalm 24
The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein. 2 For He has founded it upon the seas, And established it upon the waters. 3 Who may ascend into the hill of theLord? Or who may stand in His holy place? 4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully. 5 He shall receive blessing from theLord, And righteousness from the God of his salvation. 6 This is Jacob, the generation of those who seek Him, Who seek Your face. 7 Lift up your heads, O you gates! And be lifted up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. 8 Who is this King of glory? The Lord strong and mighty, The Lord mighty in battle. 9 Lift up your heads, O you gates! Lift up, you everlasting doors! And the King of glory shall come in. 10 Who is this King of glory? The Lord of hosts, He is the King of glory.
While Holiday Season is a joyous and festive time to many people and families, it can be a sad time for many folks too. It may bring sad memories of deceased loved ones or some broken relationships. But the wonderful thing is the Savior has come. He came first as a baby in a manger. The wise men from the East fixed their eyes on the Star and it brought them to Him.
ReplyDeleteIn today’s Psalm there is a calling to “Lift up your heads” (v7) Are you weary because of life’s responsibilities and turmoil? Lift up your heads to the King of glory for He is strong to save. He is mighty in battle. He can smash the enemies of our soul to pieces. Oh, “Lift up your heads…be lifted up. And the King of glory shall come in.” (v7)
Praise the Lord, O my soul!
