Day-26

Philippians 2:5-11

5 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, 6 who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, 7 but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. 8 And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross. 9 Therefore God also has highly exalted Him and given Him the name which is above every name, 10 that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of those in heaven, and of those on earth, and of those under the earth, 11 and that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christis Lord, to the glory of God the Father.

  1. When the Prince of heaven came down to the earth, He chose to take on the lowest possible form – a bond slave. From His most humble birth till His most shameful death, He never departed from such humility of mind, not only towards His Father, but also towards all men. It was out of the life of a true Bondservant that He said, “I can do nothing of Myself.” He gave up all His rights yet praise the Lord, God exalted Him from the lowliest to the highest. Our Forerunner glorified the Father through this path and out of His great love He commanded all His followers to deny themselves. If we would humble ourselves to pursue this mind of Christ, the same faithful God will also lift us up in due time. Glory be unto Him!
